Homoeopathic Doctor,
Craniosacral Therapist
Having worked as a conventional doctor for 8 years, first in hospital medicine and later as a GP, I became more and more dissatisfied with the fact that I was often only treating symptoms, but not really dealing with the underlying cause of the ill-health of that individual person. Patients were returning with similar problems over and over again and I was starting to look at other ways of dealing with health and disease. Having become more aware of the connection of mind, body and spirit, I wanted to look more at the person as a whole. I also wanted to find ways to strengthen the general health and vitality of my patients in order to prevent illness and disease. In this process, I gradually became more open to the more subtle ways of healing.
I began studying homoeopathy in 1993 and it has been my passion ever since. I started to work at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital in 1998 where I still see NHS patients. I am a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy.
I later trained in Craniosacral Therapy and qualified in 2006. I am registered with the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK.
I have been in private practice since 2001, using Homoeopathy but over the last few years also offering Craniosacral Therapy.
I am registered with BUPA and AXA PPP and most health insurances provide cover for homoeopathic consultations with me.
Homoeopathy
In Homoeopathy, the body’s own healing power is stimulated by a homoeopathic remedy. A homoeopathic medicine is matched with your individual form of dis-ease on all levels of being. If the remedy information matches well with your particular pattern of symptoms, true healing can be initiated. I understand true healing as finding a good balance on all levels of existence; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This will help us fulfill our full potential. Homoeopathy might be able to help with a variety of conditions.
What can be treated?
Acute conditions such as viral illnesses or ailments from sprains, insect bites etc.
Recurring conditions: Homoeopathy aims to strengthen the organism to prevent further episodes.
Recurrent migraines
Recurrent outbreaks of herpes
Recurrent infections such as upper respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, cystitis, thrush
Chronic conditions
Skin complaints, including eczema, acne, urticaria (nettle rash), psoriasis
Digestive problems, including IBS, indigestion, inflammatory bowel disease
Breathing problems, including asthma
Allergies such as hay fever
Hormonal complaints: Period related problems, infertility, menopausal symptoms
Stress related symptoms, anxiety, mild depression, sleep disorders
Arthritis and musculoskeletal symptoms
Fatigue and exhaustion, post-viral fatigue
Babies with teething problems and colic
Homoeopathic remedies can be taken alongside conventional medication. Children often respond very well to homoeopathic treatment. I see quite a few children for treatment of eczema, asthma, allergies, reoccurring infections, headaches, sleep disturbance or emotional imbalances. My particular interest is to treat the family as a whole.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy is a hands-on body therapy that aims to release tensions, restrictions and misalignments in the body. It has become known for the treatment of babies after difficult births but it can also be used for many other conditions. Children and adults can benefit alike and treatments are usually experienced as pleasant and relaxing. Tensions and restrictions held in the body on the emotional as well as physical level can be released in order to create greater freedom of health.
