My mission is to make you feel relaxed and cared for.

I am an award-winning massage therapist specialising in deep tissue massage, natural facelift massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release and detoxing body wraps.

These are my most popular treatments:

Natural facelift massage:

A non-invasive treatment to rejuvenate and relax while improving the complexion. “I was astonished from the very first session. Right away I could see the results.”

Deep tissue massage:

Using a mix of techniques drawing from deep and soft tissue release, pressure points, myofascial release and stretching, this massage is highly effective for stress, tension, headaches and localised muscle pain. “A best found remedy for stress-relief that is more effective even than holiday”

Sculpting/slimming massage:

When applied to the abdominal area, slimming massage can help improve digestion and reduce bloating giving the impression of a flatter, more defined stomach. It can help break down the localised fatty deposits and best results are achieved combining massage with healthy eating and exercise.

Manual lymphatic drainage:

This technique is very effective for sinus congestion, water retention, oedema and to boost the immune system. ‘It was so nice to just relax and enjoy the hour’s massage and I am feeling so much better today’.

I decided to train as a massage therapist because I understand the pressures of modern living after having a corporate career in the private and public sector; my role is to help people to achieve a better work/life balance and raise awareness of wellbeing and self-care.

Over the years I have seen clients with a number of conditions, mostly back and shoulder pain and tension, digestive complaints (candida, bloating) and water retention.

My passion is to make clients feel and look amazing through a unique blend of massage techniques. I am also passionate about communicating, engaging and information sharing so I regularly write articles and post video tutorials about health, lifestyle and beauty.

Having worked in Harley Street and in high profile clinics, I have come across a wide spectrum of conditions and have worked with other practitioners to provide an integrated approach to wellbeing.

Ronete Cohen MA, Psychologist and Psychotherapist

I treat adults, adolescents, children and families. I do more than just address symptoms: I go to the heart of your problems so that you can change your life for the better. I am trained in two Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT) approaches – Intensive Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (IE-DP) and Affect Phobia Therapy (APT). I am the only APT therapist in the UK.

In my work with adults, I use IE-DP and APT to address a wide range of issues, including but not only: abuse, anxiety, assertiveness, burnout, childhood issues, childhood trauma, depression, dysfunctional families, relationships, self-confidence, self-esteem, sexuality, stress, and trauma. I help you deal with your fears and anxieties, and enable you to relinquish the defences that stand in the way of your buried emotions. I help you find self-compassion and start the healing process.

In my work with children, I use my wide range of specialisations (including in educational issues), which enable me to deal in a coordinated way with whatever it is that is troubling your child. I specialise in adapting and developing IE-DP and APT for use with adolescents and children. With children, problems will often manifest themselves in other (often unrelated) areas, so it’s likely that whatever you approach me about will turn out to be only part of what’s really going on. An all-encompassing approach has a higher chance of success. Also, since parents, family and school form an integral part of a child’s world, it’s important for treatment to include them too, whenever necessary.

I am an expert and experienced lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender affirmative therapist. I have extensive experience of working with diverse cultures, nationalities, beliefs, sexualities and alternative lifestyles. In addition to English (my mother tongue), I speak Hebrew and Dutch.

I am an advice columnist and my expert opinion is quoted in articles, both in print and online. I also give talks and workshops. I have written a chapter, ‘Using Intensive Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy to Treat an Underachieving Gifted Adolescent’, for a book on psychotherapy, ‘The Theory and Practice of Experiential Dynamic Therapy’, edited by Ferruccio Osimo and Mark Stein (published by Karnac in July 2012). In it, I illustrate how EDT can be adapted for use with adolescents in general, and, specifically, underachieving gifted adolescents.

Dominique Antiglio

Msc in Sophrology/Bsc(Hons)

Sophrology Therapist and Coach

My aim through BeSophro is to help clients transform challenging situations into opportunities for positive change.

Perhaps you are suffering from work-related stress or the anxieties that accompany the constant need to balance a range of demands in your life. Perhaps you are trying to cope with change and have reached a stage where you feel you need help. Or perhaps you might be suffering from a range of emotional or physical symptoms (some listed below) without really understanding why.

I use the Sophrology method, a mind-body approach through which I can support, teach and guide you to overcome difficulties in your life so that you can feel calmer, more in tune with yourself and empowered.

Sophrology efficiently combines the essences of Eastern and Western therapeutic wisdoms (such as yoga, meditation, relaxation methods or psychology) in a simple and practical way to help you reach a feeling of greater well-being.

When we are facing difficulties in life, whether they create excess stress, affect us physically, emotionally or leave us with feelings of unease, Sophrology offers accessible and practical therapeutic tools.

Sophrology uses a combination of relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, guided meditation, gentle movements and calm use of the voice. It has numerous benefits in terms of relaxation and recuperation, and is also designed to overcome specific issues. The exercises you learn can then also be easily practised at home or at work so that you have day-to-day support.

As each session is bespoke, I will help you define your needs and work with you to tailor the method to suit you and your situation. A safe space is provided for you to express yourself and to work at your own pace.

We work to help you, through a natural and dynamic process, develop a new state of balance, and to access new ways of dealing with your present, future or past in your daily life.

The following are some examples of symptoms or issues Sophrology can help with:

Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious

Sleeping difficulties

Difficulty coping with emotions

Lack of motivation

Depression, burnout

Low confidence or self-esteem

Back or digestive problems

Pain

ME, chronic fatigue syndrome

Serious illness, chronic illnesses, and heavy medical treatment, and recovery

Eating disorders, weight issues

Perhaps you are interested in self-development (to balance energy levels, manage work/life balance more effectively, and/or cope well with change), or you need help in preparing for a specific event (giving birth, exams, surgery). Sophrology doesn’t replace medical treatment but it is used as a precious complementary method in such situations.

I have extensive experience in Sophrology and therapy. I discovered Sophrology at a very young age, and it has since changed the way I live my life and continues to give me precious tools for my own developmental path and has inspired me to use it professionally to help others.

My professional training in Sophrology notably includes:

A Diploma in Caycedian Sophrology (2004) at the Académie Suisse de Sophrologie (Swiss Sophrology Academy) and a Master in Caycedian Sophrology (2006) with Professor Caycedo himself, the founder of the method.

I initially trained as an Osteopath in the UK completing a BSc(Hons)Ost in 2001. I then started my own Osteopathy and Sophrology practice in Switzerland where for more than ten years I specialized in the treatment of children and pregnant women. I regularly lead Sophrology workshops at the Académie Suisse de Sophrologie (Swiss Sophrology Academy).

During my osteopathic career, having experienced many times the immediate benefits that Sophrology had on my clients’ bodies and vitality, I realized that most of their physical pains were rooted in their struggle to cope with a particular life situation. Therefore it felt a very natural step to begin working exclusively as a Sophrologist.

I am also a founding member of The Sophrology Network and The London Sophrology Institute.

Trusted and used extensively in other parts of Europe (especially in Switzerland, France and Spain), Sophrology is relatively new to the UK . I am delighted to contribute to its development here and to offer it at Kingyo Therapy Suites.

I offer individual Sophrology sessions in English and French.

I also guide regular Sophrology group sessions on specific themes where individuals can experience the method in a supportive and like-minded environment.
Spring News Letter

For a little bit of Spring advice on how to alleviate lower back discomfort, our Osteopath Amberin Fur, provides a few tips:

AMBERIN FUR
Osteopath BSc Hons Ost DO
Spinal & Sports Specialist
Cranial & Paediatric Specialist

With the start of a new season there is growth…

As the spring emerges, so does the active digging and weeding season. Garden lovers and many others suffer with back pain daily. Here are some tips to help alleviate your symptoms if you do experience discomfort in the lower back. Better yet, these helpful tips to may ensure that you don’t overdo it this season!

* Have short breaks and stretch your back by rolling forward to touch your toes and arching your back in a gentle and pain free range
* Aim to keep your belly button pulled in towards your spine, this contracts the abdomen and protects the lower back, but make sure you keep breathing, it becomes easier with practice
* Stretch the hip flexor, by standing on one leg, and hold the ankle of the lifted leg with the opposite hand close to your buttocks, push the hips forward and you will feel a stretch in the front of the thigh, then repeat on the other leg. If this seem too complicated just lunge forward and slowly lower your back knee down towards the floor (it is not necessary to lower it completely)
* Whilst sleeping on your back, rest with a pillow under your knees, to loosen any tension coming from the thighs, taking the pressure off your lower back

This season also brings growth to Kingyo by the introduction of a new osteopathic team to support us through the changes our bodies face. To discuss any issues or book an appointment, please call reception. We will be able to take appointments on Monday mornings with Amberin and Wednesday afternoons with Stephania.

Laurent Cadet de Fontenay
Psychotherapist & CBT Therapist

How Can I Help You?

As a Counselling Psychologist specialising in cognitive behaviour therapy, I can help you overcome depression, phobias and a range of anxiety disorders, enabling you to live life to the full. Being a trained in a number of other modalities, I will also use a range of other theoretical approaches during our work together to assist you in attaining your therapeutic goals and to maintain the gains as effectively as possible. Having a disability myself, I also have a strong interest in assisting clients to adapt to life with a disability (physical or mental) in order to live rich, fulfilling lives.

What is Therapy Like?

Working with me means having someone who will compassionately collaborate with you to reach your therapeutic goals and live the life you really want.

Our first session will be a comprehensive clinical assessment, lasting up to 90 minutes. This will give you time to talk about the issues that have brought you to therapy, while enabling me to ask questions to formulate a clearer sense of your situation, including the background and history of the problem. We will then be able to decide whether ongoing therapy would be beneficial to you, as well as the style of therapy to follow. When necessary, I will also refer you to another therapist for any additional help you may need.

Should further sessions be beneficial, ongoing therapy will be an opportunity for us to explore the patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours which may be leading to your problems. With this greater understanding of self, we can begin to focus on resolving your particular problems and developing skills to help you manage life more positively.

How Will We Work Together?

When following a cognitive behavioural approach, sessions will be centred on giving you the skills to change thoughts, behaviours and beliefs that are giving rise to your difficulties; you will learn skills to become your own therapist, enabling you to maintain the gains throughout your life. You may start noticing changes in your symptoms after a few sessions, as you actively apply the material we cover to your own life between sessions. While some symptoms shift quickly as you apply what you learn, the underlying beliefs that give rise to the problematic thoughts in the first instance take longer to shift and I would ideally foresee working with you for between 12 to 20 sessions, depending on the nature of the concern you wish to address.

Depending on the nature of your concern, a more self-guided type of therapy may be needed. In these instances, I will support you through a personal growth process, guiding you to talk through the important issues in your life, thereby helping you to gain greater personal strength, clarity and self-insight.

About Me

I am a fully qualified Counselling Psychologist, registered with the UK Health Professions Council. I have over eight years experience of work in a wide range of psychotherapeutic settings, both in the UK and internationally. While I take a holistic approach to therapy, integrating a range of modalities, I have developed a particular interest in the use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to treat depression, anxiety and a range of phobias. Having a disability myself, I am also keen to assist clients with disabilities to develop the mindset to lead the life they really want.

Fees

The initial consultation costs £95.00 and lasts for up to 90 minutes.

The fee for ongoing sessions, lasting 50 minutes each, is £80.00 per session.

I am an Acupuncturist and Naturopath at Kingyo Therapy Suites and would like to introduce you to the benefits of Acupuncture combined with the right supplements to stay healthy during the cold and flu season.Traditional Chinese Acupuncture can prevent cold and flu by building up the immune system with just a few needles inserted into key points along the body’s energy meridians. These points are especially valuable for strengthening the circulation of qi and blood and also tonify the inner organ system to correct minor imbalances before they turn into a serious health issue.Acupuncture may help relieve symptoms of cold and flu by reducing pain through the stimulation of nerves located in muscles and other tissues, which leads to release of endorphins. It also promotes natural killer cell activities.
Research has shown that certain blood counts and immune enhancing chemicals stay elevated for at least 3 days following an acupuncture treatment.Acupuncture does not interfere with western medicine but provides a complement to it in most cases and emphasizes in treating the whole person while shortening the recovery of the illness.
Prevention is the key to well-being so book your appointment today.

My winter well-being tips:
Goldenseal, Echinacea and Astragalus combination: Boosts the immune system and fights microbes
Elderberry: Boosts immunity by increasing the body’s production of cytokines (proteins involved in regulating the immune systems response to disease and infection)
Vitamin C: helps the body fight infection
Ginger: Natures’ antiviral herb, great for preventing and healing colds, sore throat and inflamed mucus membranes
Zinc lozenges: Stimulate the immune function to fight the virus
Get plenty of rest, wrap up warm , stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, fresh juices, soups and herbal teas and avoid mucus forming foods such as dairy products, sweets, fried and fatty foods.
While we could spend the summer playing out with the kids till late, the winter comes and it is getting cold and dark early when most of the children activities are indoors. Kids Entertainment at home can be a pleasant and enjoyable but can also be tiring and stressful.Children love to create and to express themselves through art; it can help them to explain themselves, to calm down, relax and to enjoy their own creativity. As part of my professional training, I specialized in working with parents and children to combine art making such as painting or working with different materials.Art encourages creative expression, imagination, joyfulness, communication, connection and a good time together; allowing parents and children pleasant and enriching experience and still holds and allows dialogue and contact. In my clinic I am working with parents to understand their children behaviour and responses in order to better communicate and to feel confident as a parent, finding the best way to enjoy and spend quality time with each other.

I recommend to use outside resources – Pick different stoned from outside try to find the ones with flat surface but any stone your child pick outside is good. Wash it at home and then let your child gives it a character or feeling. It can be feelings like happy, angry, afraid, excited, etc… Than paint it with your child – give a special colour to each feeling or you can do a special face or a sign on each stone.
