Are you concerned about your child?
Parents are often concerned about their children, but do not know who to turn to. They may be anxious not to have their child labeled. We offer a humanistic service to parents and children, to discuss their concerns in a warm, supportive and confidential space. Our goal is to help children to sort things out and put the pieces together. If you answer yes to the following questions, then you could consider this kind of help:
- Do you think your child is struggling at school?
- Is she or he unhappy, sad, worried, angry and withdrawn?
- Does she or he spend too much time alone, or not sleep or eat as they used to?
- Do you think she or he is too active, tiring you out?
- Do you feel that she or he isn’t doing as well as you think they could, either at home, or at school with friends?
What can we do to help?
In a safe and confidential environment, your child can be supported in finding different ways of letting an adult understand and help with things that are disturbing them. It uses different ways of playing. Our intention is to support your child to find her/his own ways of expressing their concerns and feelings using the creative arts, music, sandplay, story for example.
What will happen next?
The first step would be to have a meeting with you, so that we can discuss what your child needs are and how therapy will help. Then after a few initial sessions with your child we will be able to suggest what help they might need. This can vary from one consultation to a much longer plan of action. The help your child needs could last a few months or may take longer. For others it may be appropriate to suggest other sources of help.
